Our private client is looking for a live-out housekeeper for a position based in Kensington.

The housekeeper and will carry out such duties and comply with such instructions consistent with the position and status as the Employer may reasonably determine from time to time including but not limited to:

Job Title and Duties

Live out full time Housekeeper for VIP household in London some travelling required.

The Employee’s normal place of work will be in the Kensington area of London. We are seeking to hire a professional Housekeeper who will join the team of 6 housekeepers to work in this large Grade II listed family home in Kensington. The house is spread over 5 main floors and will require a team player to support our current team.

We are seeking an organised individual who takes pride in their position, is willing to go the extra mile when needed and has an eye for detail.

Travel is a requirement for this position so you must have a UK or EU passport.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Providing an exceptional standard of service to the family and their guests.
  • Must be comfortable working around children and the family dogs.
  • To be able follow the instructions provided by the principals/guests/management and report to Head Housekeeper or Lead Housekeeper and in their absence to the team.
  • Upkeep of housekeeping standards and circulating throughout the property and outside to ensure that all standards and operational flows are well maintained.
  • Care of bedroom suites, changing beds and replenishing linen.
  • Attending to the needs of the principal and making their environment as comfortable as possible.
  • Supporting members of the operational house team to deliver the highest level of personal service to the principal.
  • Wardrobe Management and Organising – Managing all day-to-day items and a high-end shoe collection. Maintaining of all drawers and wardrobes.
  • Liaising with the Principal’s to ensure wardrobes and other requirements are well taken care of.
  • Maintaining stock control and rotation of the entire household bathroom and storage areas, including all client areas and back of house.
  • Assisting the day to day running and working in all areas of the laundry (washing, pressing, sorting, spot cleaning and dry cleaning), when the laundress is off duty.
  • Trip planning and packing/unpacking for the principals.
  • Follow and complete all departmental SOPs, Systems and duties to the exceptional household standard expected.
  • Responding to any other ad hoc duties as required by the family – a high level of amenability and flexibility is required.

Working pattern, Holiday and Overtime

  • The working schedule 5  days per week and 2 days off.
  • There are shifts covering between 7am and 9pm, were we have a rotation of an early (7am-3pm), middle (9am-6pm), and late (1 pm-9pm) shift pattern.
  • The Employee’s holiday year runs between January 1 and 31 December and the Employee’s holiday entitlement is 20 days of annual leave plus English Bank and Public Holidays.
  • The Employee will also be entitled to an additional day of holiday in lieu if any additional days are worked.

Salary and Package

  • The Employee’s salary shall be at the rate of  £45,000 per annum.
  • The package will also include enrolment to the workplace pension scheme.
  • The Company may in its absolute discretion pay the Employee an annual bonus.
