Live-in Domestic Couple in Bermuda (open to separate individuals)

Our private client is looking to hire two individuals for a position based in Bermuda. The household is flexible in its hiring structure and will consider either a capable couple or 2 separate candidates able to fulfil the combined duties. The roles may be configured as two highly experienced, discreet, and independent Housekeepers, or as a Housekeeper and a Houseman, both with cooking abilities and the capacity to maintain a large, high‑spec residence to an exceptional standard. These positions suit candidates with strong initiative and the ability to work seamlessly within an established multicultural team.

The property is newly renovated, extremely high‑end, and requires candidates who can maintain immaculate standards with minimal supervision, though the existing team will offer full training.

 

PROPERTY DETAILS

The residence is a newly renovated, top‑end home featuring:

• 3 floors + underground cinema room
• 4 bedrooms (entire top floor is a guest suite)
• 2 offices
• Large dining room
• High‑end main kitchen + secondary kitchen area
• Gym
• Swimming pool
• Patio and outdoor seating areas
• Extensive grounds with many plants
• Numerous windows and high ceilings
• Electric staircase
• Located on the mainland
• Pool maintenance can be outsourced if needed.

 

STAFF ACCOMMODATION

Brand‑new, modern, staff accommodation:

• 2 x fully operational one‑bedroom apartments, all bills paid.
• Staff are responsible for their own food and personal expenses

 

HOUSEHOLD TEAM

The team is long‑standing, loyal, and highly capable:

• All housekeepers can cook
• High standards, strong teamwork, and excellent coverage during holidays
• The environment is supportive but expects professionalism and discretion

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Housekeeping

• Full housekeeping of a luxury, high‑spec residence
• Care of delicate materials and top‑end finishes
• High‑ceiling cleaning, large window care
• Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management
• Guest room preparation and turnover
• Maintaining consistently immaculate standards

Cooking

• There is a full-time private chef, but other staff need to be able to cook
• Ability to prepare simple, healthy meals when required
• Understanding of vegetarian preferences
• Willingness to follow the principal’s instructions (he enjoys cooking for himself)

Houseman Duties

• Heavier housekeeping tasks
• Assisting with high ceilings, windows, and deep cleaning
• Watering plants, sweeping patios, and maintaining outdoor areas
• Light pool assistance (external contractor available)

Operational Duties

• Reporting any issues promptly
• Following established cleaning products and methods (training provided)
• Ensuring the home remains secure and maintained during travel periods
• Covering colleagues during holidays (can be up to one month)

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

• 40 hours per week
• 2 consecutive days off
• No overtime
• 1 month paid holiday per year
• 1 annual airfare home
• No income tax
• Comprehensive private insurance (dental and vision)
• Private pension scheme (staff may contribute extra)

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Essential

• Strong UHNW housekeeping experience
• Highly independent, discreet, invisible service mindset
• Comfortable being coached by senior island staff
• Happy to live and work on an island
• Down‑to‑earth, low‑profile, light drinker
• Must speak English (immigration test)
• Ability to integrate into a multicultural team
• Reliable, calm, and professional

Desirable

• Experience in large estates with extensive grounds
• Confident with high ceilings, windows, and heavy tasks
• Basic cooking skills (vegetarian a plus)
• Ability to assist with outdoor areas

Additional information

• All immigration and processing expenses are covered (reimbursed)
• The role must include holiday coverage when other staff travel
• The household is stable, well‑run, and expects a high level of professionalism
• Start date asap (considering the immigration process of up to 4 months)
• Salary depending on experience, between £28,000 and £32,000 after tax per person (£56,000-£64,000 combined)
