Chief of Staff/Butler in Hong Kong

Our private client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Majordomo or Chief of Staff to oversee the successful operation of multiple private properties, residences and households in Hong Kong. The position is live-in.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Complete oversight of multiple private properties and residences including gardens; ensuring consistency of high standards, procedures, and the smooth running of daily household services
- Managing a team of household staff, including housekeepers, domestic helpers, gardener and driver etc.; responsible for hiring, training and supervision of the team
- Arranging grocery shopping, procuring healthy and fresh ingredients, and supervising daily meals preparation for the household
- Managing household finances, including tracking and controlling inventory supplies and expenses and arranging the payment of bills
- Overseeing the maintenance issues of the properties and residences to ensure the smooth running of the household
- Managing the service quality of external Security Guard service providers on-site
- Supervising construction and renovation projects; liaising with architects, designers, outside vendors, and contractors as necessary
- Acting as the main point of contact and gatekeeper for the household
- Planning and executing logistics of special events
- Assisting with any additional care of the family and handling unpredictable needs of the household
- Handling any special requests, related duties, or errands as requested by the Principals
- Personal concierge and valet services for the Principals
- Providing special care for fine china, crystal and silverware and other valuable contents in the household
Requirements:
- A minimum of 20 years of relevant work experience managing private residences
- Professional butler training and qualifications preferred
- Outstanding references from both current and previous employers
- Utmost confidentiality and discretion is required
- Well-versed in etiquette and servicing, meticulous attention to details
- Adept in managing and supervising household staff
- Ability to work independently as well as leading a team, be “hands-on” as necessary
- Able to prioritize, manage time efficiently and delegate tasks effectively
- Strong analytic, excellent communication and management skills
- Good command of the English and Chinese language, both written and oral preferred but not a deal breaker (Chinese)
- Flexible scheduling with availability to work overtime and weekends; and to work at multiple sites as required
- Paramedic and first aid experience a plus
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid Passport

- Working hours to be confirmed, flexibility being essential for this role.
- Salary depending on experience between £84,000-£120,000 gross per annum with accommodation.
- To start as soon as possible.
